Review ♥ NARS Creamy Concealer

Swatch & Review of the Day! - NARS Creamy Concealer

Hello to all the lovely readers out there,
I hope you're having a lovely lazy Sunday. As it's quite the 'talked about' product at the moment plastered over social media, I thought I'd do a quick & honest review for you on the NARS creamy concealer.

Random post, but I was looking through my pictures and discovered this from a few weeks ago.
When buying NARS creamy concealer I always wondered what colour would suit me as it's usually the palest shade in any makeup brand  (hence my almost white skin!)

Swatch - NARS creamy concealer in 'Chantilly' (palest shade)
It's also featured in my December / January Favourites post!

As you can see, the left side is just swatched, and the right side I blended into my skin. It's a liquid / cream concealer that dries semi-matte. If you apply it with a brush or your fingers, you will get the most coverage with more of the matte finish. However if you apply it with a damp beauty sponge, it will give you less coverage with a dewy look. It Doesn't need setting, however it's recommended it you want it to stay on all day

My review

• It's a great full coverage
• Blends really easily, (best applied with a damp sponge)
• I use it for highlighting & brightening certain areas such as tops of the cheekbones, middle of the forehead, bridge of my nose and a little bit on my chin.
Does not budge! I applied this before work at 7.30 and it stayed in place until I got home at 6pm.
• Nice colour for my skin, can be used over blemishes without looking noticeable.

• Creases quite heavily under my eyes :(
If anyone's got any advice as how to get rid of this pleeeeease let me know!!
Slightly pricey at £22

I also have the 'Maybelline Fit Me' concealer which retails at around £6.99, and it's safe to say, it's quite the dupe! The difference between them I've found is the Maybelline is more liquidy and a medium coverage, which needs setting with powder or it will crease,( also the shade range isn't the best, all way too dark for me)  however the NARS is a drier yet still liquid formula with a fuller coverage.

I hope this helps anyone who's looking at purchasing the NARS concealer. It's safe to say it's a gorrrrgeous concealer, amazing shade range, full coverage, and if you're looking to spend that bit more, it really is a great investment as less is more!

January Favourites | NARS, Elf, MAC, Red Cherry Lashes & Lots of Swatches! ♥

Hello again everyone!

Here's my December/January favourites. I wanted to show you what I've been loving lately, but more in detail with some swatches to help give you a better idea of the products!

Hope you enjoy :)

Overview:  NARS Bronzer in Irresistblement
 Kabuki Brush from eBay
NARS Copacabana illuminator
Red Cherry Lashes style #43
Maybelline Lipstick in Honey Beige
NARS Concealer in Chantilly
Face cleanser (little pink thing!)
Elf Cosmetics Contour Kit
MAC Liners in Boldly Bare, Oak, Spice & Stripdown (all swatched below)

Swatch of NARS Concealer in Chantilly. Palest shade with a slight pink undertone, very similar colour to my skin tone which is AMAZING as I am so so pale! This concealer is very similar to the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, however I prefer this consistency and coverage.
View here:

Elf Cosmetics Contour Kit
The darkest shade is a cool toned deep brown, with  very slight shimmer to it. I use this for slight contour and eyeshadow.

Nars Bronzer in Irresistblement
Quite a warm shade light-ish bronzer, not to be used for contouring, especially not on pale skin as it comes off quite orange. Nice for warming up the face for a bronzey glow.
View here:

Swatches of the bronzers! Elf  bronzer on the left and NARS on the right.
The ELF bronze colour is more of a contour shade, however NARS irresisiblement on the right is more of a warm tone lighter shade, better used for bronzing than contouring as it can look slightly orange.

10 Synthetic kabuki face & eye brushes for £7.99. Bargain ! The quality is absolutely lovely, so soft and the fibers blend out foundation with ease. I've heard these look and feel very similar to Sigma Brushes.
I've linked the same brushes but for even cheaper here -->

A swatch of NARS Illuminator in Copacabana. Oh my. It is out of this world!! The pic above is just a thin layer over the back of my hand. It is the brightest and most pigmented liquid highlighter i've ever used, without a doubt. Its very thin in consistency however blends beautifully into the skin to give you an amazing rosy glow!! Amazing.
I really wanted to swatch the MAC Liners as I was curious about the actual colours before I bought them myself. I wanted to know how different the colours were in real life rather than images. Above are the swatches for Oak, Boldly Bare, Spice & Stripdown. Boldly Bare is my favourite as it's a nude pale pink which looks best on my pale skin. The other liners look a little bit better suited on tan/darker skin as they don't then look as orange.

Thanks all for reading,I hope you all enjoyed my December/January favourites! If you have any questions please comment down below and i'll reply as soon as I can :)!

DIY: HOW TO - Melt Your Lipsticks! ♥

Hello lovelies!

This is my first DIY Blog - On how to melt your lipsticks into an empty palette for a gorgeous addition to your make up bag, easy to carry around, and keeps them all in one place.

I've seen many pictures of perfectly packed lip palettes, full of different lip colours all in the same palette. I've always been wondering where I can get my hands on them, but unfortunately with no luck! Selfridges have just had their annual 10% sale on Beauty, so I nabbed the MAC clear empty palette, and the plastic inserts to go inside, I believe it cost £17 altogether roughly, but for the ease of having all your lipsticks in one place, who can complain!?
There are a few more variations of these empty palettes around, however I found this one to be just what I needed.

Here's a QUICK video of me melting down my lipsticks. (Be careful not to burn the lipstick in the spoon as it will affect the colour/consistency)

Before you start - sterilise your spoon and knife in boiling water to reduce bacteria build up. I then sprayed them with alcohol spray just to be sure!

Things you will need
Kitchen Roll / Baby Wipes
Empty palette

Step One

Make sure you have some kitchen roll/baby wipes on hand to clean the knife and spoon after each different lipstick.
- Cut off the whole lipstick from the base, I then cut that in half so I could re use the top of the lipstick again. Put the top of the lipstick back in the tube and mush it down slightly so you can use this again for yourself.
Take the remaining bit of lipstick and pop it into a large spoon.

Step Two

Hold the spoon over the flame but not directly on it as this will cause the lipstick to burn. When the lipstick has melted into a liquid, quickly pour it into an empty hollow in your palette. The lipstick may expand ,and cools very quickly ( my first go of doing this was horrendous!)

Step Three

Repeat this step until your palette is complete, but be sure to write down what the lipsticks are called or you may forget! (I did this, rookie error!)
Leave your palette to cool, and you're good to go!
All your lipsticks in one place, easy and really light  to carry around, and you won't lost it in the bottom of your bag.

Here are the links to the palette/inserts I bought, I will also link the other variations I was looking at :)
Hope this helps!

QUICK Everyday Brow Routine | mollysbeautylife

Hello loves!

I'm trying to get the hang of the old 'Instagram videos' to show you how I do certain things with my make up routine, such as my every day brows!

I apologise for the shocking quality however I'm a novice at these things so hopefully they shall be getting better as the year goes on.

Step One

Firstly I like to outline my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in 'Taupe'. I also have this in Medium Brown however its far too dark! I bought Taupe so I could mix the shades to match clients hair colour.
I get a small amount of product on an angled brush and trace round my brows usually from the bottom, upwards. This gives me a rough idea of what I need to fill in.

Step Two

Then I like to fill in all of my brows using the same product, then I add a darker powder by Benefit Brows A Go Go, to define the outer arch.

Step Three

Taking a flat concealer brush and my favourite concealer of the moment 'MAC Select Cover Up', I define the arch of the brow and clean everything up by patting in the concealer all underneath my brow and onto my eyelid to prime my lids for eye shadow.

Step Four

Apply a nice bright highlight to the highest point of your arch right underneath the brow to highlight the area and bring light to the eyes. It also looks beautiful and shimmery! Here I used MAC's Nylon eye shadow. Oh my lord, it is amazing. A definite buy for anyone wanting that bright highlight!

I know it's a very very quick video but I just wanted to show how I do my every day brows when I'm in a rush in the mornings!

I will add the link below to where I got my Anastasia Beverly Hills products, and I must say, they are definatley worth the hype! Also you only need the tiniest amount to create a perfect brow.

Thanks for reading, my next post will be up shortly!

New Years Eve • Step By Step Tutorial

Happy new year everyone!
I hope you all had a lovely evening and are enjoying a day off.
Last night was of course new years Eve, however I didn't want to spend all night doing my makeup, so I kept the skin simple and went for a deep brown bronze on the eyes.

Details of the eyes will be listed below ❤️

So sorry for the awful lighting in the pictures, you just can't count on daylight in winter!

1. Fill In the brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip brow pomade in 'Medium Brown' using an angled brush. Next I Applied MAC Select Cover up concealer in NW15 onto the lids. To follow I applied vanilla pigment onto the brow bone and inner tear duct to brighten up my eyes.

2. Apply an orangey brown shade into the crease and up towards the brow bone using a fluffy brush to blend out the lines , I used mac Saddle, Swiss chocolate , soft brown and an orange shade not sure of the name, applied with a mac 217 brush.

3. Next I applied carbon, a black shadow onto the outter corner to create definition, I used an Elf Cosmetics shader brush (not expensive and amazing quality!) blend it out softly but don't bring it right up to the brow bone.

4. Then I used Mac Blacktrack to line my eyes, smudging it into my lash line and also into my waterline and bottom lashes. To finish off the look I blended everything together with a clean fluffy brush , the best one I've used is from LaurenLuke.com - amazing! I applied some mascara and finished off with pressing on some mac blue/brown shadow onto the lids, blending with carbon to create seamless shadows on the lid.  Apologies for the awful lighting in the pictures !

Thank you for reading, I hope this helps!
