General Update! Make Up, University & Blogging

Hello all of you lovely readers out there.

It has been a very long time since my last post, and i'm here to explain why!

Over the past few months I have been preparing for University, filling out various forms, attending opening days, sorting out student finance and so on...

I've also been working pretty much non stop, also doing some make up appointments when I can! So blogging and my YouTube channel has taken a back seat... unfortunately. I've put so much energy, time and money into expanding my social media presence and making it the best it can be, such as buying a new laptop, new camera, new lights, sooo much makeup (oops), and it's rubbish that it's all had to go on hold as I've been so busy.

I absolutely LOVE blogging, taking pictures, interacting with other bloggers and you tubers, it's one of my favourite things ever! However as I've just started University this week, it's going to be more and more time consuming to blog when I've not got my head buried in work and wanting to rip my hair out!

However, as I love doing it so much, I'm going to try my absolute best to blog as as much as I can about everything from Make Up to Beauty, and Fashion to Food..(we all know I love my food)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and hopefully speak to you soon in another post!

Molly xoxo

The contour edition • | mollysbeautylife

Whether it's creams, powders, kits or palettes, the Contour craze is still very much around and in full force, and I myself am on the bandwagon!

If you like your makeup natural and light, or heavy and dramatic, there are definitely contour products out there for every skin tone and makeup desire - I know this as being a make up artist, I have to adhere to every clients wishes.

A few of my favourite contour kits and products are pictured below, which I absolutely adore!

Left: Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit (Light) (£39) and Right: RCMA Foundation Palette (£55)

Pictured below Left to Right - RCMA Foundation Palette (£55), MAC Pressed Powder 'Deep Dark' (£23ish), Anastasia Beverley Hills Cream Contour Kit Light (£39), Anastasia Beverley Hills Original Contour Kit (£39), Elf Cosmetics Contour Kit 'St Lucia' (£3.95), and NARS 'Irresistblement' Bronzing Powder (£27.50)

Powder Contour Kit PRO'S
  • Easy to travel with (no melting)
  • Fast and easy to apply, takes only a few minutes to blend into the skin
  • Lots of shimmery, matte shades to choose from starting in the Drugstore.

Cream Contour Kit PRO'S
  • More coverage than powder
  • Easy to blend over cream or liquid foundation
  • Looks more natural as it blends into the skin rather than sits on top

What are your favourite Contour Kits? Any from the Drugstore? Comment below and let me know!

Dramatic Pink & Gold Glitter Eyeshadow Makeup Look • | MOLLYSBEAUTYLIFE

Hello everyone :)

I thought I would share this look me and a student created during a 1-1 lesson make up lesson.
From time to time it's great to step out of your comfort zone and try different make up looks, using brighter colours, glitter and lots of winged liner!

My student summer wanted to learn something new and bright and using glitter. I loved teaching it as it was new for me too! The colours complemented her models eye colour amazingly too !

I used my everyday go to 'Benefit Brows-a-go-go Kit' to fill in the brows using a MAC 266 brush.
For the eyeshadows, I used Jaclyn Hill's Favourites Palette she created with Morphe Brushes, I was lucky enough to get my hands on it when it was first released in February, its beaaaautiful I would recommend it to everyone! The Glitter we used was one purchased off eBay, however if you are to get any glitter online please make sure it is suitable for eyes only! I know there are lots out there saying they're suitable for the eye area but just do make sure its from a genuine seller or you may end up causing damage to your clients' eyes or your own! Nobody wants that!

The liner is of course my all time favourite Maybelline Gel Liner, hands down the best gel liner i have ever used and ever will!!
To highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes I used MAC's 'Nylon' shadow as it's super bright and frosty, just what we wanted to make the eyes pop.

I hope you all like the post, you can find more images and info over on my Instagram page, Molly's Beauty Life.

See you all in my next post!

Latest YouTube Video! Soft Sultry Brown Eyeshadow Tutorial • |MOLLYSBEAUTYLIFE

Hello all my lovely readers!

So, I've got a brand new YouTube video! yay! I wish I could do more and post more, but working throughout the week and weekends really takes up a lot of my time.

If only everyone knew just how much work and time goes into a YouTube video!
From new lights, to a new camera and new laptop, (OH AND THE EDITING, HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT?!?!) it's a pricey thing to do, but as I've wanted to do it since the age of 14(ish), I thought now is a better time than ever to start.

When doing the makeup look, I realised it turned out more of a 'mauvey' colour than brown, ah well, trial and error I suppose!
I'm all for supporting each other because I know times are hard! Leave your Channel link & blog details down below and I'll take a look and subscribe :)

Drugstore Foundation Routine ♥️ • | mollysbeautylife

I'm back again and this time it's with my favourite Drugstore foundation, concealer , powder & Bronzer routine!

If you're anything like me, always on the look out for the next best drugstore foundation & concealer and for a good price, you're in the right place!
As i'm a close relative of Casper the ghost, it's sooo hard to find a suitable foundation to cover my skin without it looking orange! There are only very few products from the drugstore which work well for me, i'll go into detail about them below :)

FAVOURITE Foundation:

(Shocker) Loreal true match - i'm not sure what shade I am, however looking at the bottles i'm sure i'm 2nd from the palest. (I really should've got the palest one)! I think it retails at around £9.99 in most stores such as Boots and Superdrug.

  • It's a liquid foundation with a medium to full coverage.
  • Lots of great shades from Neutral to cool and warm undertones.
  • For the best coverage, I apply it using a damp beauty sponge. It makes it 10x easier and quicker too!
  • I have quite dry skin so I absolutely  need to moisturise before applying this.

(image taken from www.boots.com)

It absolutely has to be the Collection Concealer in the shade Fair. What can I say?! The best drugstore concealer i've ever used. It actually suits my skin tone!  If you haven't tried this, you're missing out! It's a must buy for the price at £4.19 (depending on drugstore).

  •  It super super full coverage, liquid texture and stays on your face all day.
  • I've repurchased it 3 times which speaks for itself!
  • A well known dupe for NARS Creamy Concealer
  • I apply it under my eyes & bring it down the sides of my nose in a triangle shape, also on my tear duct for brightening the eyes.
  • I blend in the concealer with small round fluffy brush , easier for all the nooks and crannies.

My Drugstore Before & After ♥️

As I've got dry skin, I usually opt for a cream bronzer as it's much easier to blend when I'm in a rush in the morning! My all time favourite is Bourjois' Cream bronzer, or it's proper name 'Bourjois Une Healthy Sun BB Cream Bronzer'.
I got this on a whim quite a while ago, but i've been loving it ever since! It's on www.FragranceDirect.co.uk at the moment for £3.49, down from £12.49, bargain!
  • I apply it with a small stippling brush onto the top of my forehead, underneath my cheekbones & a little bit on my nose to warm up my skin. One of my favourite brushes for this is the Real Techniques Stippling Brush.
  • To set the cream bronzer I usually top it with Sleek's Contour Kit in Medium for extra dimension.

Bourjois Une Healthy Sun BB Cream Bronzer S05 8.5g
(image taken from www.frangrancedirect.co.uk)

Last but not least, powder. Even though I have dry skin, it tends to get quite oily in my T-zone area as the day goes on. To combat this, I use my all time drugstore and high end favourite powder, the Rimmel Stay Matte in the shade Transparent.

(image taken from www.feelunique.com)

And that's about it! My favourite products from the Drugstore all in one place :) These products are great if you're on a budget or just trying them out as it's not going to cost you the earth. If you have any questions or you would like to see swatches, please comment below!

MAC Haul, & a few Elf goodies! • | mollysbeautylife

So.. recently I finally got my MAC Pro Membership card, and it only meant one thing - shopping!
I love the feeling of opening deliveries, it's like Christmas Day for us make up addicts.

My make up kit is quite large already, however I wanted to top up on a few things that I needed so I can cater for all clients' skin tones and types.

  • First thing I bought was 6 Studio Fix Fluid Foundations, in all different colours I think I got NC35, NC43.5, NC 45.5, NC50, NC58, & NC40. As a pale gail myself I have plenty of fair foundations, but I wanted to get some nice tan & darker colours. I absolutely love the studio fix fluid foundations, they're great for full coverage and really easy to apply.
  • Next I got 3 Lipsticks, Fleshpot (pink nude), Lady Danger (Coral Red) and Heroine (Bright Purple). They - are - amazing. I can't wait to wear Lady Danger when I'm on holiday! It's such a beauuutiful colour! Swatches below!
  • Fix + (travel size) - Ive tried many make up setting sprays but this one just does it for me. The smell, the consistency & sheer lightness to the mist spray is gorgeous, keeps your make up on all day!

  • Mineralise Skin Finish (Natural) in Dark. I have lotsss of these skin finishes including Soft & Gentle, Dark Tan, & Give Me Sun, however this shade 'Dark' has more of a bronze finish than the orangey shade of the others.
  • I picked up the Pro Product 'Mixing Medium Eyeliner', which is a gel type liquid which I think you can use as a glitter eyeshadow base & you can use it to turn eyeshadows into eyeliners.
  • Another Pro product I got was the shaping & sculpting powder in 'Emphasise'. It's a white/vanilla powder product that comes in single pans for the palettes. MAC also do the contour shades which I will be getting my hands on next time!

Left to right - Lady Danger, Heroine, Fleshpot.

Please let me know what MAC products you love and which you don't,  I would love to have a read through the comments!

New MAC Lippys! • | mollysbeautylife

Who can resist the look of these beautiful lipsticks?!

Im such a sucker for bright & nude lipsticks, and after recently getting my MAC Pro card, I took to online shopping at my favourite make up company ♥️

I got Fleshpot (pale nude), Lady Danger (bright coral red) & Heroine (bright purple) . I'm loving the bright colours for this summer! (Wishful thinking

I mean, how amazing ?!  The purple & red might not suit me the best as I'm super pale, but il definatley give them a go.

Left to right - Lady Danger, Heroine & Fleshpot

My favourite finish from the lipsticks are definatley Matte. As the matte lipsticks are soo pigmented , you need less product. However the satin finishes are just a nice wash of colour, still quite pigmented but more moisturising.

What are your favourite MAC lipsticks ? I can never get enough! Please let me know in the comments ♥️

New Holy Grail Eyeliner, better than MAC?! • | mollysbeautylife

So for a long time I've always thought that MAC Cosmetics' 'Black Track' liner was the bees knees.
It wasn't until last night whilst training on a makeup course I discovered the  most amazing, jet black gel liner EVER.

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce you to Maybellines Gel Liner, if you haven't met already.

(Image from www.maybelline.com)

 MAC Vs Maybelline

• The formula - actually feels like a gel and not a dry grey looking paste
• It's pigment, super jet black and creamy
• It's moveable, blend able and buildable
• The PRICE £7.99
• Cute little glass pot like the mac products

 • This could be classed as a pro as it's long wearing- but it took me quite a while of scrubbing to get it off my eyes.
• I think there's slightly less product in the jar than MAC's , so you may use it up quicker, but for the price who the hecks complaining ?!

If you're in need of a new liner , try the Maybelline gel liner. It's the perfect addition to anyone's makeup bag or kit. They also do a brown liner too which is perfect for people who find black too harsh. I even use it as a shadow base for deeper coloured shadows!

(Image from www.debenhams.com)
(Image from www.cultbeauty.co.uk)

For the best application for a precise line i recommend MAC's 266 brush or Anastasia Beverly Hills angled brush (AMAZING

What are your favourite liners? I'm in need of a new white one! Let me know ❤️

YouTube Channel | Under Construction! ♥

Hello again !

I'm sat up writing this at 1:39am, i'm almost too tired to sleep! Lol, is that even possible? (plus, Family guy on the TV is very distracting at this time of night)

Anywho, I've been wanting to create a YouTube channel for years and years, after being inspired by so many amazing bloggers and make up artists. However, there was always something holding me back. Lack of confidence was the main factor, but also thinking "what if people don't like me?!" "what if people think I'm a loony" ... maybe not those exact words but -  you catch my drift.

Just before Christmas, I started my make up Instagram which I've been loving to see peoples work and share my own, but I didn't want it to just stop there. So over Christmas and the new year, I really invested a lot of money into a good quality camera (Canon 700D), and most importantly my absolute favourite laptop, the MacBook Air. It definitely takes some getting used to as I've been a Windows PC gal for the past 10 years!

After thinking and thinking about it for years, I've finally decided to take the plunge and start creating my YouTube channel. For one, I'm not a photo/film editor so it's definitely going to be tricky at first to get good quality videos up, but there's never been a better time than the present to start!

I'm looking forward to sharing all of my favourite beauty and make up moments with you all, including filming clients' makeup, daily make up routine, monthly favourites and all that good stuff.
If anyone has any suggestions for my first video, please leave it down below! It's finally time to bite the bullet!

Hope you all enjoy! Leave me your YouTube links below and i'll be sure to subscribe ♥

My QUICK Go-To Eye Makeup ♥ | mollysbeautylife

I think its time for a new Blog post!
I'm dedicating this one to the frequent eye make up look I keep going for when Im not quite sure what to do & I don't have a lot of time.

Below is a step by step guide on how I create my very quick and easy go-to eye make up look using all Morphe shadows from Jaclyn Hills palette. By the way - isn't it amazing? It seems like Ive waited for an eternity for it to arrive from the US, but Im so blown away by the pigment! Anywho, i'll go into the full details on a whooole other post. Stay tuned!

For this look, I used only the lightest orange shade from the palette, the darkest matte brown & a little bit of the top left shimmer on my lid. IT - IS - AMAZING. Literally every warm matte and shimmery eyeshadow you will ever need in life in one palette, and the price is unbelievable. Thumbs up Morphe!

I've marked the colours on the picture below of the ones I used. Just look at those colours. They call to me!

1) Start of with a bare eyelid! Then add on your favourite primer, (mine's MAC's Soft Ocre Paintpot)

2) I applied the orangey shade with a large fluffy brush into my upper crease area. As I have slightly hooded lids, I have to bring my shadow up higher.

3) Next, I applied the matte brown shadow into my crease & outter corner with a small tapered brush from Morphe.

4) I then applied MAC's Backtrack gel liner onto my top lid using a pointed liner brush.

5) Using the same liner, I blended it onto my water line and blended it together with the orangey shades on my bottom lash line.

5 1/2) Blend everything out together with a fluffy brush for the seamless edges

6) To finish off, I patted on MAC's Vanilla pigment onto the brow bone and inner corner to brighten up my eyes. After adding some mascara, I added on my favourite lashes of the moment, the Eyelure #140's.

And that  - is it! Not a lot of shadows, not a lot of work and all pulled together with either your favourite mascara or false lashes. There's something about orangey warm shadows, I instantly gravitate towards them. If you're the same, please leave some shadow suggestions below!

Review ♥ NARS Creamy Concealer

Swatch & Review of the Day! - NARS Creamy Concealer

Hello to all the lovely readers out there,
I hope you're having a lovely lazy Sunday. As it's quite the 'talked about' product at the moment plastered over social media, I thought I'd do a quick & honest review for you on the NARS creamy concealer.

Random post, but I was looking through my pictures and discovered this from a few weeks ago.
When buying NARS creamy concealer I always wondered what colour would suit me as it's usually the palest shade in any makeup brand  (hence my almost white skin!)

Swatch - NARS creamy concealer in 'Chantilly' (palest shade)
It's also featured in my December / January Favourites post!

As you can see, the left side is just swatched, and the right side I blended into my skin. It's a liquid / cream concealer that dries semi-matte. If you apply it with a brush or your fingers, you will get the most coverage with more of the matte finish. However if you apply it with a damp beauty sponge, it will give you less coverage with a dewy look. It Doesn't need setting, however it's recommended it you want it to stay on all day

My review

• It's a great full coverage
• Blends really easily, (best applied with a damp sponge)
• I use it for highlighting & brightening certain areas such as tops of the cheekbones, middle of the forehead, bridge of my nose and a little bit on my chin.
Does not budge! I applied this before work at 7.30 and it stayed in place until I got home at 6pm.
• Nice colour for my skin, can be used over blemishes without looking noticeable.

• Creases quite heavily under my eyes :(
If anyone's got any advice as how to get rid of this pleeeeease let me know!!
Slightly pricey at £22

I also have the 'Maybelline Fit Me' concealer which retails at around £6.99, and it's safe to say, it's quite the dupe! The difference between them I've found is the Maybelline is more liquidy and a medium coverage, which needs setting with powder or it will crease,( also the shade range isn't the best, all way too dark for me)  however the NARS is a drier yet still liquid formula with a fuller coverage.

I hope this helps anyone who's looking at purchasing the NARS concealer. It's safe to say it's a gorrrrgeous concealer, amazing shade range, full coverage, and if you're looking to spend that bit more, it really is a great investment as less is more!

January Favourites | NARS, Elf, MAC, Red Cherry Lashes & Lots of Swatches! ♥

Hello again everyone!

Here's my December/January favourites. I wanted to show you what I've been loving lately, but more in detail with some swatches to help give you a better idea of the products!

Hope you enjoy :)

Overview:  NARS Bronzer in Irresistblement
 Kabuki Brush from eBay
NARS Copacabana illuminator
Red Cherry Lashes style #43
Maybelline Lipstick in Honey Beige
NARS Concealer in Chantilly
Face cleanser (little pink thing!)
Elf Cosmetics Contour Kit
MAC Liners in Boldly Bare, Oak, Spice & Stripdown (all swatched below)

Swatch of NARS Concealer in Chantilly. Palest shade with a slight pink undertone, very similar colour to my skin tone which is AMAZING as I am so so pale! This concealer is very similar to the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, however I prefer this consistency and coverage.
View here:

Elf Cosmetics Contour Kit
The darkest shade is a cool toned deep brown, with  very slight shimmer to it. I use this for slight contour and eyeshadow.

Nars Bronzer in Irresistblement
Quite a warm shade light-ish bronzer, not to be used for contouring, especially not on pale skin as it comes off quite orange. Nice for warming up the face for a bronzey glow.
View here:

Swatches of the bronzers! Elf  bronzer on the left and NARS on the right.
The ELF bronze colour is more of a contour shade, however NARS irresisiblement on the right is more of a warm tone lighter shade, better used for bronzing than contouring as it can look slightly orange.

10 Synthetic kabuki face & eye brushes for £7.99. Bargain ! The quality is absolutely lovely, so soft and the fibers blend out foundation with ease. I've heard these look and feel very similar to Sigma Brushes.
I've linked the same brushes but for even cheaper here -->

A swatch of NARS Illuminator in Copacabana. Oh my. It is out of this world!! The pic above is just a thin layer over the back of my hand. It is the brightest and most pigmented liquid highlighter i've ever used, without a doubt. Its very thin in consistency however blends beautifully into the skin to give you an amazing rosy glow!! Amazing.
I really wanted to swatch the MAC Liners as I was curious about the actual colours before I bought them myself. I wanted to know how different the colours were in real life rather than images. Above are the swatches for Oak, Boldly Bare, Spice & Stripdown. Boldly Bare is my favourite as it's a nude pale pink which looks best on my pale skin. The other liners look a little bit better suited on tan/darker skin as they don't then look as orange.

Thanks all for reading,I hope you all enjoyed my December/January favourites! If you have any questions please comment down below and i'll reply as soon as I can :)!
