Fall Favourites ∙ Make Up ∙ Random Extras

      Fall Favourites

Well, it's official. Autumn is upon us and I've already cleared out the summer wardrobe for a new Fall collection. Yes, you could say I'm a tad early for all the festivities, but why not make the most of  Pumpkin Spice Latte's, fluffy jumpers and most importantly cracking open the burgundy lipstick.

The weather cools down, the central heating get's turned up, and our morning showers are just that bit harder to jump out of. Whether we like to admit it or not, our year is in it's final months and we wonder.. "Where has the time gone?!". Well you and I are in the same boat. Thankfully I've been lucky enough to see a handful of amazing places this year, including the beautiful city of Paris,  and the Italian island of Sardinia.

Now, as the days get shorter, and the wind gets colder, it's time to wave goodbye to our old friends flip and flop, dust off the cobwebs, and dig out those old 'puddle-proof' boots from the back of your wardrobe. Without further ado, let the Autumn favourites commence!

Make Up

What screams Autumn more than the MAC 15 shadow warm neutral palette? After this being sold-out online and in-store for months I couldn't resist myself when I finally saw it back on MAC's website. The warm matte and shimmery tones are perfect for creating that subtle or dramatic seasonal look. My favourite shades in the palette for Fall are 'Saddle', 'Dark Brew', and 'Amber Lights'.

Bonjour healthy mix foundation. In the colder months my skin tends to become dry and dehydrated. This foundation is great as it's a dewy finish with a light- medium coverage. If you feel you need more coverage just add some concealer. Voila!

Bargain of the week! £1.99 for this gorgeous deep plum/cranberry shade 'Red023'. I picked this up at boots. Apply 2 layers and a top coat and you're good to go. Viola!

Random Autumn Goodness

Pumpkin spice latte's from Starbucks. Don't be fooled, these don't actually taste like pumpkin and no you won't have to pick seeds out from inbetween your teeth. Thank god. If you haven't tried this, you are missing out! Run down to your nearest Starbucks and get this drink, you will love it. It's a mix between the taste of cinnamon, and chai. But even better!

Signing off with a picture I took whilst on a walk last week. I love the autumn colours! Hope you enjoyed a few of my Fall favourites, only a few as I haven't had as much time as I would have wanted to shop this month!

Spot The Difference: NARS Vs. ELF

Who doesn't love a dupe for something a little out of our price range? ME!
I've always been a fan of Elf (eyes lips face) Cosmetics, but when I saw all the similarities with a lot of the Nars products, I couldn't help but try them out.

Products mentioned:
Nars blush and bronzer duo (£30) Vs. Elf Cream bronzing palette (£3.95)
Nars blush 'Orgasm' (£22.50) Vs.  Elf blush 'Fuscia Fusion' (£3.95)
Nars tinted moisturiser (£29) Vs. Elf full coverage concealer (£3.95)

Although I haven't tried all of the Nars products, the few I've tried have always impressed me. The creamy concealer is a must have for that beautiful highlighted effect.
However, not only the packaging of these products are almost identical, but what's inside them won't dissapoint.
  •  For pigmentation, coverage and finish, Elf cream contouring kit is a steal at only £3.95, and it gives you an idea of what the NARS duo would be like in terms of colour, as these are very similar.
  • For blush, NARS wins the race. The beautiful shimmer that delicately shines through in 'Orgasm' is something that can't easily be replicated, and after using Elf's blush, it just doesn't have the same desired effect. It's a clear winner from Nars.

I'm all for cheaper alternatives to high end products. if you know of any please leave a comment down below and I would love to read your blogs and reviews.

Favourite Drugstore Concealers

When it comes to concealers, with me it's a 'Love / Hate' relationship. Does anyone else struggle as much as I do to find the 'perfect' one? They're either too pink, too yellow. too dry, and unfortunately, the list continues.

As I was sieving through my make-up bags, I rediscovered these three concealers that I'd completely forgotten about, (no hard feelings Maybelline!). Rediscovering these were a god send as I'd been struggling for a while to find a decent colour concealer.
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - 10  £5.99
  • Maybelline Instant Anti-Aging Erase Concealer - Light £5.99
  • Maybelline Dream Lumi - (Palest shade but it's rubbed off) £6.99

Starting with the 'Fit Me' concealer, it's almost the perfect dupe for Nars Creamy Concealer, and for the price, who's to complain. Try it out in a Drugstore to see the comparison! It's great for lightly applying over the top of your foundation for those highlighted areas such as down the bridge of the nose, under the eyes, and middle of the forehead, as it's a brightening concealer with medium coverage

Secondly, the Instant Anti-Ageing Circle Eraser ..,(I think!).
Now, after seeing this product plastered all over YouTube, and also featured on every Beauty Bloggers Instagram for as long as I can remember, I decided to pick this up. However, I was slightly dissapointed with the colour and coverage (probably why I forgot about it).I didn't seem to be getting the same results as I had seen a lot of other bloggers out there. Is it a different formula to the one in the States? Non the less, I rediscovered it and decided to give it another try. Applying it with a damp beauty blender and using it under my foundation gave the best dewy results. If you're looking for a light-medium coverage with a dewy finish, this ones for you!

And finally, the Dream Lumi. This is one of those concealers that acts more as a 'corrector', as the colour undertones are quite salmon. Apply this to your dark spots and circles before you put on your foundation, and you will see great results. A little goes a long way with this product, and if you're struggling with the colour, correct it with your favourite finishing powder to reduce the pink undertones. It's a medium - build able coverage, best used for colour correcting rather than highlighting and concealing.

What's your favourite concealer? Let me know in the comments below :)

MAC Autumn Wishlist

• Queue soft harp music and dim the lighting •

Oh yes, the mac autumn Wishlist has made it's entrance today and I am obsessed! I recently discovered Polyvore, what an amazing app! I can stare at my screen and sob over the 'must have' but 'don't need' products that are on my Wishlist below.

I am on a spending ban .. Hence the 'wish list'. There's so many things I'm trying to save for including my first car, it's so difficult ! Anyone else saving for anything?

 • Top left - MAC Mineralise Skin Finish - Medium Dark (I think?)
• Top right - MAC Face and Body Foundation - C1. I've heard this looks great over the studio fix fluid.. (Makes it look less cakey, NEED to try!)
• Bottom left - MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow - Brownluxe. Looks really similar to my Bobbi Brown 'Shimmer Brick - Beige'.
• Bottom right - I believe this shade is 'Rebel'. That perfect cranberry plum shade for Fall.

Does anyone else have an Autumn Wishlist? I would love to see it!
